Is there a community issue you're passionate about? Not sure how you can contribute to its solution? Or maybe you鈥檙e interested in volunteering, but you aren鈥檛 sure where to begin? The Center for Civic Engagement is ready to work with you to find a volunteer opportunity that will help our local area and also make you an active and engaged community member.
Working with impactBING CORE (Community Opportunities for Real Engagement), students can find semester-long partnerships and one-time opportunities with organizations best suited for their needs, interests and experiences. We can also help identify group volunteer opportunities for student organizations and groups. Opportunities range from supporting people with traumatic brain injuries to working with local community centers. Don't see a program that spikes your interest? The CCE is more than willing to work with you to identify a project you can get involved in or assist you in starting a new program that facilitates change in the 绿帽社 community.
Get Involved!
Someone from our office will follow up with you regarding opportunities that match your interest and availability after receiving your completed interest form.
Students who wish to participate in a CCE community-based program and who have previously been convicted of a felony will be asked about their prior criminal history. This may impede your ability to participate in certain programs. Contact Alison Handy Twang with any questions or concerns.

The Center for Civic Engagement is dedicated to celebrating and enriching our campus鈥檚 commitment to volunteering. Students who log at least 25 hours in a semester through our signature programs will earn a volunteer recognition sticker. Students in a co-curricular program (impactBING CORE, Youth Initiative, and/or badge program) should log their volunteer hours through the timesheet provided to them at orientation. Students who are enrolled in a Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) course should log their time through B-Engaged. Contact khickey@binghamton.edu to learn more.
