Mission
The Division of Student Affairs is dedicated to an educational philosophy that locates students at the center of the learning process, facilitating their intellectual emotional, social and physical well-being.
Vision
The Division of Student Affairs is an integral part of the academic process in preparing students to become members of a very complex and ever-evolving society.
Guiding principles
- Maintain high standards of performance for our work — constantly question whether and how we might improve our programs and services.
- Maintain high standards and expectations for our students in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular pursuits.
- Provide our students with a strong foundation for active citizenship and career success upon graduation.
- Strive always to work collaboratively and communicate openly — with our students, their families and our colleagues.
Collaboration
We intentionally break down the "silos" of higher education here at ÂÌñÉç. From administrators to faculty to staff to student leaders, the ÂÌñÉç community works together to provide meaningful services, support and programming that blur the lines between the classroom and cocurricular opportunities, pushing our students to achieve the highest levels of success.
Assessment — the new "ÂÌñÉç way"
Institutions of higher education often maintain the status quo, continuting to do things the same way they've always been done. At ÂÌñÉç, we pride ourselves on rigorous ongoing assessment of our Student Affairs programs and initiatives. Our Student Affairs Assessment and Solutions for Engagement (SAASE) office takes the lead in assisting offices within the division to collect, analyze and use data in order to enhance programs, services and processes.
