Kaiyan Yu received her BS degree in Intelligent Science and Technology from Nankai University in China in 2010 and her PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Rutgers University in 2017. She joined the Mechanical Engineering Department at 绿帽社 University in 2018. Her current research interests include autonomous robotic systems, motion planning and control, mechatronics, automation science and engineering, with applications to nano/micro particle control and manipulation, Lab-on-a-chip, and biomedical systems.

Kaiyan Yu is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). She is a recipient of the 2022 US NSF CAREER Award. She has published several peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers in the areas of robotics, mechatronics, and automation science and engineering. Her paper was selected as a finalist for the Best Student Paper Award at the 2014 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM), and her paper won the Best Student Paper Award at the 2022 IEEE International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering (CASE).

Since 2019, Kaiyan Yu has served as an Associate Vice President of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) Media Services Board. She is also an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, the IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, IFAC Mechatronics, Frontiers in Robotics and AI, and the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Conference Editorial Board, as well as the ASME Dynamic Systems and Control Division Conference Editorial Board since 2018. She actively reviews for highly reputed journals, including IEEE Transactions, ASME journals, and peer-reviewed conference proceedings.
