Background

Tina Chang, Brooklyn Poet Laureate, is the author of Half-Lit Houses, Of Gods & Strangers (FWB) and Hybrida (W.W. Norton, 2019). She is also co-editor of the Norton anthology Language for a New Century: Contemporary Poetry from the Middle East, Asia, and Beyond. She has received awards from the Academy of American Poets, the New York Foundation for the Arts, Poets & Writers, among many others. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, LA Times Book Review, Oprah magazine, Washington Post and the Harvard Review. Hybrida was named one of the best books of 2019 by NPR, Publisher’s Weekly, Lit Hub, and other media outlets. She founded Meet the Author, a literacy program established to foster creativity and to enrich the lives of children through access to living writers and artists.
