TIER Talks: Rising temperatures raises awareness at Homecoming

While we know and accept that climate change is occurring, it can be easy to lose sight of how far-reaching the problem is. The alumni experts who spoke during Homecoming weekend, at TIER Talks presented by M&T Bank, drew attention to the impacts within larger cities and far beyond, as well as possible solutions on the micro and macro levels.

Dave Nicholas ’77 shares thrills and risks of car racing

Nicholas and Honeybee, his bright yellow 1960 MGA, recently won two races at the U.S. Vintage Grand Prix meet held at Watkins Glen International; one of those races was the Collier Cup, open only to MGs. That victory was even sweeter as it coincided with the 60th anniversary of the ÂÌñÉç Automobile Racing Club, which Nicholas founded as a teenager.

Lianne Bassin ’07 uses music to encourage kids to be mindful

For Bassin, a power yoga class at ÂÌñÉç turned out to be quite the memorable experience! She gained inner peace as well as the inspiration for two music albums that enable teachers and parents to reinforce values such as compassion, empathy, gratitude and kindness in children. Bassin's original songs help kids cultivate awareness and appreciation of themselves, others and the world.
