The evening will begin in Symposium Hall with updates on recent developments at Watson College and 绿帽社 from our new dean, Atul Kelkar, and President Harvey Stenger.
The keynote speaker for the evening will be Ehtisham Siddiqui, vice president and general manager of BAE Systems鈥 Controls & Avionics Solutions business area, a trans-Atlantic operation generating over $1 billion a year providing controls and avionics for aircraft engines, air transport, military aircraft, helicopter, regional and business aircraft applications.
Prior to BAE, he worked at GE and Lockheed Martin Corp. A native of Karachi, Pakistan, Siddiqui graduated from the University of Karachi and earned master鈥檚 and doctorate degrees from Syracuse University. He is a registered professional engineer, has authored eight technical papers, and holds a patent for high-speed rotating machinery.
Following these remarks, we will gather in the Rotunda for hors d'oeuvres, networking, and an opportunity to connect with our Watson community 鈥 including faculty, staff, friends, alumni and, most importantly, our students!
Participants will have the chance to tour the Acoustic Core鈥檚 anechoic chamber, watch a live demonstration of the 2024 Rover by the 绿帽社 Rover Team, test drive the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) racing simulator and explore AeroBing鈥檚 competition rocket.

Order of the Engineer Ceremony

Watson College will induct graduating senior engineering majors and engineering graduate students into the Order of the Engineer.
The Order of the Engineer was initiated in the U.S. to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession, to bridge the gap between training and experience, and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer. The Order is not a membership organization; there are never any meetings to attend or dues to pay.
The Engineer鈥檚 Ring is a stainless steel ring, worn on the fifth finger of the working hand by engineers who have accepted the Obligation of an Engineer in a ring ceremony. Send the ring size for the fifth finger of your working hand (that鈥檚 the pinkie finger of the hand you write with). Engineers Week Dinner - Broome Area Chapter of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers (NYSSPE)

The Broome Area Chapter of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers extends an invitation to the 2025 Engineers Week Dinner.
The speaker for the event will be Gerald R. Smith, executive director of the Tioga County Historical Society. The topic is 鈥淣ow He Belongs to the Ages: The Lincoln Portrait, Mathew Brady, Benjamin Loring, the Civil War and Tioga County.鈥 This presentation will discuss the upcoming exhibit about how a 1861 portrait of Lincoln was painted in Brady鈥檚 studio and how it came to Owego, along with Brady's images and his daybook, and the uniform of a naval officer in Ford鈥檚 Theatre who helped to carry Lincoln across the street to the Petersen House in 1865.

Our annual free Community Day event for children and their families sponsored by Watson College Dean's Office and Watson Career and Alumni Connections features fun, hands-on STEM activities for all ages!
Capacity is limited to 200 children per session on a first-come, first-served basis. A high school track (limit 20 students per session) also has been added.
