End-of-year juries
As part of the course of study in the Musical Theatre BFA program, students will undergo juried performances at the end of each semester. In fall semesters, this will take place in the form of a studio voice recital where students will perform 1-2 songs. At the end of each spring semester, students will prepare a slate of audition material performed for the musical theatre faculty.
Jury requirements:
- Freshman year, fall: one song
- Freshman year, spring: two contrasting songs (one up-tempo and one ballad) and one monologue
- Sophomore year, fall: one song
- Sophomore year, spring: two contrasting songs (one up-tempo and one ballad) and two monologues (one comedic and one dramatic)
- Junior year, fall: two songs
- Junior year, spring: four contrasting songs (including at least one up-tempo and one ballad) and two contrasting monologues (including one piece with heightened language)
- Senior year, fall: two contrasting songs
- Senior year, spring: four contrasting songs and two contrasting monologues
