How can I best get involved on campus, regardless of my year in school?
You can get involved in the many student groups that we have on campus. You can find a full list of student groups here.
Another way to get involved on campus is to participate in case competitions, such as the ones held by firms such as PwC or KPMG.

You can print your resume at SA Ink, located in UUW B09, in the New Union basement.

I have received job offers from two different firms/I have two interviews scheduled
for the same day! What is the best approach to this situation?
Recruiters understand that many applicants will have other interviews or offers and they will most likely be more than happy to accommodate you. Reach out to the company and politely ask for an extension on an offer acceptance deadline, or to reschedule the interview. When deciding between two firms, keep the following in mind: Pick the one you are leaning most toward. What professionals are you connecting with the most? What firm feels most comfortable? What role feels like the best fit?
-
I am only a freshman. What should I be doing to prepare for my career?
It is never too early to begin thinking about your career. Begin attending events with employers and alumni in various industries to determine which might be a fit for your interests. This will also help you to start building your professional network. Attend as many recruiting events as possible to familiarize yourself with the process.
-
I need additional time to decide on an offer...
Send a professional email to the recruiter requesting an extension as soon as possible. Remember to be polite and be specific as to how much additional time you will need.
-
I have an upcoming phone interview but I am unsure where to take the call?
Some students prefer to conduct phone interviews in the comfort of their own home while others prefer a professional atmosphere. If you prefer the latter, schedule a room in either the SOM Career Services Office by emailing trichard@binghamton.edu or schedule a room in the Fleishman Center by emailing hirebing@binghamton.edu.
-
I've received a job/internship offer from one firm but would like to continue interviewing
with other firms...
If you are still exploring other internships/jobs politely ask for an extension on your acceptance deadline until after your interviews are completed. However, once you accept an offer you may NOT continue to interview with other firms.
-
What is a video interview and how can I best prepare?
Many organizations use video technology for the first round of interviews. You should prepare for video interviews the same way you would prepare for an in person interview. Always check to ensure that your technology is properly functioning, dress professionally, remove distractions, and look directly at the camera when answering questions. It is a good idea to do a test run with your computer and/or laptop to be certain that all will run smoothly on the day of the interview.
-
I am having technical issues with hireBING...
If you are having difficulties with hireBING, email hirebing@binghamton.edu and someone will quickly respond to your concern.
-
I submitted my resume on hireBING, how long will it take to receive feedback?
You should receive feedback within 1-2 business days. DO NOT wait until last minute to get your documents approved. Often times more than one career or professional staff member will be reviewing your documents. It may take several submissions to make your resume as competitive as possible.

Where can I find my unofficial transcript to use for job applications?
Your unofficial transcript can be found on BU Brain. You will need to go to the tab "Your Records" and the third choice down reads, "Online Academic Transcript." The transcript can then be saved to your computer by choosing to "print" your transcript, but changing the destination to "Save as PDF." Please make sure to upload your transcript to hireBING at the beginning of each semester.
