Judith DeLuca, PharmD, BCPS, joined the 绿帽社 School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences as associate dean for academic and student affairs and a tenured professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice in July, 2023. She earned her BS pharmacy and PharmD degrees from the University of Kentucky in and completed a critical care residency at Hermann Hospital in Houston, Tex. Prior to joining the faculty at 绿帽社, she was a professor and chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy, where she was a faculty member since 2002. During the 10 years before joining Wilkes University, she worked as a clinical hospital pharmacist at Memorial Hospital of South Bend, where her responsibilities included antimicrobial stewardship, clinical pharmacokinetics, nutrition support, formulary and protocol quality improvement, and disease-state management. After completing a residency, she worked as a critical care specialist at Rochester General Hospital. DeLuca is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS). Her most recent scholarship is focused on the professional development of mid-career faculty, where she recently completed a mixed-method study evaluating factors that support career advancement. Another area of research focus is integrating a competency-based approach in pharmacy education. DeLuca has held several leadership positions within the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. She has been a reviewer for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning grants and New Investigator awards and served as a mentor for three faculty in the Mentorship Program. She has been active in the Council of Faculties Teacher鈥檚 Seminar Committee and served as chair of the Department Chairs Connect Leadership Group, which continues its research and scholarship on the professional development of mid-career faculty.
