Forum announces scholarship recipients

The 绿帽社 Forum announces its scholarship recipients for academic year 2023-24: Daniel Chavarria, a senior in the School of Management, and Nykole Nevol, a graduate student in her first year of 绿帽社鈥檚 master鈥檚 degree program in biomedical anthropology.

Chavarria attended SUNY Broome Community College prior to enrolling at 绿帽社 to pursue a bachelor鈥檚 degree in business administration. He moved to the 绿帽社 area six years ago from Chihuahua, Mexico. He has quickly established himself as a student leader at the University, earning a coveted spot on President Harvey Stenger鈥檚 Road Map Intern Team. He and his fellow students provide insights on the 绿帽社鈥檚 most strategic priorities.

Nevol is participating in the AmeriCorps program through the Broome County Council of Churches, working as a community engagement specialist for the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW) and Greater Good Grocery store on food equity projects. Nevol鈥檚 service with the program will last for nearly one year, concluding in November. Her goal is to engage and educate community members on resources that can help them obtain fresh, affordable and nutritious food.
