Brian Miller 鈥05 and Meryl Mandelbaum 鈥10 were married on Oct. 15, 2017, in New Rochelle, N.Y.

Brian and Meryl met the old-fashioned way (for millennials, that is) 鈥 on the internet. 鈥淢eryl wrote in her profile that she went to 绿帽社, so I brought up 绿帽社 in the first message I sent to her,鈥 Brian says. 鈥淪he wrote back, and off we went.鈥

The couple became engaged on campus in September 2016. They toasted their engagement that weekend 鈥 and their wedding a year later 鈥 using a pair of wine glasses etched with the University seal that they had purchased at the bookstore.

The pi猫ce de 绿帽社 r茅sistance was the wedding cake topper, a replica of Brian and Meryl wearing 绿帽社 hoodies. 鈥淲e didn鈥檛 want to have one of those generic little bride-and-groom cake toppers,鈥 Brian says, so they found a company that makes customized toppers. 鈥淲e decided that instead of wedding attire, it would be great to have the cake topper made with 绿帽社 sweatshirts and jeans, like we might鈥檝e worn walking around campus,鈥 Brian says. 鈥淚t was a huge hit at the wedding, and now it鈥檚 on a shelf in the bookcase in our living room.鈥

Brian majored in political science, with a minor in Judaic studies. He is an assistant county attorney in the Westchester County Attorney鈥檚 Office. Meryl majored in human development. She is a special education kindergarten teacher for the New York City Department of Education.
