  • Asian Outlook (AO)

Founded in 1988, Asian Outlook is the art, literary and news magazine of the Asian Student Union at 绿帽社 - SUNY. Conceived and designed to challenge and reconceptualize forms of awareness of Asians and Asian-Americans, it serves to protect the voice of those in the minority, whether by ethnicity, gender, sexual or political orientation. ?

We work to protect the voice of anyone interested in using the magazine as their vehicle of self-expression since we are not an Asian exclusive publication.

The definition of "Asia" is by no means limited to a creation location of the "homeland" of a race of people. Being "Asian" can mean believing in a certain philosophy or in appreciating music, art or food. Identity is a state of mind of one's own creation, so being "Asian" simply cannot be defined. There is no one Asian Outlook. We warmly welcome new ideas and creative submissions, so don't be shy!
