A page from a spiral-bound notebook with handwritten observations dated "8-25-2022. Found deers today. They were just eating and they scampered away. Also, I recorded a squirrel, it was making loud noises-like crack, crack, crack, crack. Also, some of the recordings had peoples' voices in them. We recorded during a men's cross country practice. Also, it was beautiful outside. It's - and it's almost Halloween. We saw some frogs and recorded close to the Marsh. We also recorded the crackling of leaves as we walked. The Marsh Trail looks beautiful in the fall-the leaves have red, orange, yellow hues. The wind creates a very cool sound, and I was able to record the rustling of ferns near the lake. The parabolic reminded me of the shotgun. I had to hold it really tight to make sure it didn't fall off the handle. Overall, I had a lot of fun. I'm excited to see how snow changes how we record the trails. What sounds can snow make?
