Notes: I really liked doing this recording because the sounds are very clear and it
wasn’t what I originally planned for the recording but as soon as I started the recording
the rain started picking up a lot and I liked the sounds of the rain on the umbrella
as I was standing under it so I quickly started recording with the microphone under
the umbrella pointed up at the fabric. This is a close up recording right inside of
the umbrella so it somewhat mimics what you hear when you are standing under the umbrella
in the rain and I find that cool.
Underwater stream recording
Date: 10/04/22
Location: Stair Park waterfall
Time: 6:12pm
Weather: 51°, overcast, light rain
Microphone: Hydrophone
Notes: This was my favorite recording from today, I really love the sounds that the
hydrophone picked up here. I walked along the top of the waterfall for a bit so that
I could pick up sounds of the stream that leads up to the waterfall and I saw lots
of rocks in the water. I listened to the sounds in a few different spots before I
found this one that was super cool. I put the hydrophone right behind a rock in the
stream and the way that the water was rushing over the rock created a very cool sound.
I'm assuming that the reason it created this specific sound is because of the shape
of the rock and how that makes the water fall over it. This sound is almost a high
pitched trickling sound and I like this recording.
Notes: This was my longest recording and there were tons of different sounds in here
that I could use. I really liked the sound of the leaves falling from high up in the
trees and landing on the ground so there is quite a bit of that and the winds gusts
as well as a few bird sounds here and there
