The American Civic Association has been working since 1939 to address the needs of the Immigrant and Refugee populations in New York's Southern Tier. There are hundreds of Immigrants and Refugees that come to our community each year with a plethora of needs and challenges. Our organization has been helping the Immigrant and refugee population to meet their needs in a variety of different ways and to help them integrate in American society. In conjunction with Immigration services, we also aim to address issues within the community at large. As an organization there has been a more concerted effort to increase cultural awareness by building connections across the diverse populations present in the region, fostering a stronger sense of community.
