Project Description
The volunteers will be serving as mentors (we call them Animators) of the Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program, working with 11-14 years old (we call them Junior Youth). Ideally, the volunteers would be involved in the program for 3 years, but there is also the possibility of being involved in the program during the Summer Semester (June, July and August) and the Fall Semester (September, Oct, November and December). During the month of June the volunteers would be engaged in training (6 hours a week; days and times TBD by the group) and outreaching activities (2hours a week; days and times TBD by the group). During the months of July and August the Animators would will be meeting with the Junior Youth 2 or 3 times a week for 2 hour sessions (studying some materials that engage them in meaningful conversations, engaging in artistic and recreational activities, and organizing and carrying out service projects), while continuing with the ongoing process of training and reflection for 4hours a week.
