The Bioarchaeology and Forensic Anthropology Laboratory is currently hosting several research projects, the most major of which is a project designed to experimentally examine cranial gunshot trauma so that we can learn more about which variables can be discerned from the resultant bone trauma. Students are heavily involved in this project, and several presentations have resulted at national conferences. Student projects have included assessment of best processing techniques for bone and thyroid cartilage and the use of virtual methods to explore cranial trauma.
